Frontier Times

Page history last edited by PBworks 17 years, 8 months ago

Frontier Times was a historical pulp magazine begun in September 1923 and continued until November 1985. J. Marvin Hunter published it until 1957 and Joe Small published it until its demise.

Considered to be one of the most authentic and accurate chronicles of the old west, a large percentage is devoted to historical events in Texas.

In 1973, the magazine published facsimile editions of the first decade or so. They are identical to the originals (which are by now virtually impossible to locate) with the exception that they state on the back of the cover that they are facsimile editions. I obtained the entire year of 1924 (the first full year of its publication) from the estate of one of the editors of Frontier Times, True West and Old West magazines.
